Eczema Salve

'Eczema Salve' Natural Pine Tar & Neem Kernel Oil blended with organic beeswax to create an ointment.

Used to promote healing of the skin for persons with itchy eczema or psoriasis.

Locally made natural pine tar is derived from slowly burning down pine wood until a pure charcoal product is created. The natural moisture (water) and tar (charred resins) will drip from this charcoal which is then collected and strained for use. An unnatural asphalt tar is used in pharmaceutical products for eczema, thus spurring Rtemisia to make a natural product for alternative use. 

Pine tar's mechanism of action;  reduction in mitotic (cell replication) activity and DNA synthesis of abnormal skin cell production, Rtemisia's 'Eczema Salve' works by activating normal skin keratinisation in relation to the development of normal epidermis (top skin layer cell development).

Neem kernel is blended into this soothing skin product for its antifungal and antimicrobial actions, as eczema and psorsasis can become infected when itched and bacterium is introduced to the open skin.

Overall Actions: Antipruritic (anti-itch), Vulnerary (healing), Anti-inflammatory, Soothing, Antifungal, Antimicrobial, Antiseptic

Adult dose: Apply to skin as needed.

Child dose: Apply to skin as needed, best blended into another carrier oil at 1:3 ratio for delicate child's skin.

Herbs:  Pine tar, Neem Kernel oil

Unrefined organic sunflower seed oil, jojoba oil, beeswax

Ratio 2:1:1 (2 parts pine tar, 2 neem oil, 1 part carrier oils & beeswax blend)

*Always apply a small test patch and leave for 24 hours before more extensive use

Cautions: Not to be used with seed or nut allergies, not to be used on/in deep open or infected wounds, not to be used on burns, discontinue use if irritation or allergic reaction occurs. Keep out of eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes. 

Storage: Store out of direct sunlight or heat, expiry is 2-3 years depending on storage and formulation type, the expiry is outlined on the bottle.
